Real Life at the Mews

Issue 98, April 2019

Spring in Bayfield

Spring is slowly making its appearance to the delight all of our Mews residents. It’s all about Community at The Bayfield Mews. We are a 55+ Community providing independent living for our residents. There are only FOUR lots left in our Final Phase!! Building on the four homes in block #12 is making great progress and we are anticipating that building on Block #13 will commence in April! The Mews will be participating in three Spring Home Shows in 2019. The first is the KW Home & Garden Show in Kitchener March 29 — 31, 2019, the second is the Stratford Home & Leisure Show, April 12 — 14, 2019 and the final Show will be the Bayfield Lions Club Home & Garden Show, April 26 — 27, 2019. If you are thinking of making your home at the Bayfield Mews, we have four lots and choice of four plans to choose from.

Our Open House is open from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. every Saturday and Sunday as well as holidays. A group of our home owners have graciously offered their homes for viewing during the weekend which offers the visitor a unique opportunity to see a home fully decorated. If you are unable to visit during these hours, our after–hours contact number is (519) 565–4542 or owners in units 15, 18 or 37 will be happy to answer any questions you might including the inside of one of our resident’s home.

The following are examples of a few events that will be taking place during the month of April in Bayfield.

  • Two hundred years ago Admiral Bayfield as a young man surveyed the Great Lakes in particular Lake Huron. In celebration of his accomplishments, Judy Keightley, playwright and author has written a play called, “Admiral Bayfield”. The play will be performed on the Bayfield Town Hall stage on April 26 and 27. There will be a wine and cheese gala following each performance. Tickets cost $20.00 and are available by calling Jayne Dietrich, 519–525–3169, Judy Keightley, 519–565–4515 or at ShopBike Coffee Roasters on Main Street in the village.
  • Friends of the Bayfield Library (FOBL) as part of their Saturdays at the Library, will present Estate Planning with Janet E. Stewart on April 13, 2019. Stewart is a partner at Lemers Lawyers in London. She also has a home in Bayfield and has a long–time connection to the community. She will lead a discussion and question and answer period about estate planning, including wills and power of attorney. This event will take place from 10:30 AM to 12:00 Noon.
