Autumn in Bayfield

It’s all about Community at The Bayfield Mews. We are a 55+ Community providing independent living for our residents. Our special “Open House Day” held on Sunday, September 2, 2018 was a great success. We started off the day with nine lots left to reserve. Now there are only FOUR lots left in our Final Phase!! May we suggest if you are thinking of making your home at the Bayfield Mews, you get in touch with us as soon as possible to reserve one of the four lots left.

Our Sales Office is open from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. every Saturday and Sunday as well as holidays. A group of our home owners have graciously offered their homes for viewing during the weekend which offers the visitor a unique opportunity to see a home fully decorated. If you are unable to visit during these hours, our after-hours contact number is (519) 565-4542 or owners in units 15, 18 or 37 will be happy to answer any questions you might have. You can also visit our web-site or Facebook page and you will see our Live Streaming tour of the Mews including the inside of one of our resident’s home.

The following are examples of events that will be taking place during the month of October in Bayfield.

  • Audibly Awesome will be performing at St. Andrews United Church on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. This special evening of music featuring the Lobb Brothers will begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission is by donation.
  • World Singing Day is a global, public, sing-a-long that happens on the third weekend in October, on seven continents. The Glee Sisters and the Bayfield Ukulele Society will be leading their favourite sing-a-long songs at the Bayfield Town Hall on October 20, 2018, for one hour, starting at 1:30 P.M. Anyone who loves to sing along to songs in the car, in the shower, at home, with a choir or with their children, this is the event to attend. No experience necessary!

It’s all about Community at The Bayfield Mews. We are a 55+ Community providing independent living for our residents. You are invited to attend our special “Open House Day” when three of our residents will open their homes for viewing. We will have hot dogs and refreshments. Come visit the Bayfield Mews, view our homes and visit with our residents. Our homes will be open on Sunday, September 2, 2018, from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. We are just south of the Bayfield village at the intersection of Highway 21 and Paul Bunyan. There are only nine (as of Sept.15, 2018 there are only 4) lots left in our Final Phase!!

We also have one resale home. It is a Columbine and is 1,355 square feet in size. The unit can be viewed by appointment at (519) 565-4430.

The following are examples of events that will be taking place during the month of September in Bayfield.

  • The Lake House of Bayfield will be hosting gentle Yoga Sessions on Thursdays this Fall. Starting on September 13, Chair Yoga will be held at 10:00 A.M. followed by Restorative Mat Yoga at 5:15 p.m. Participants are invited to just drop in. The cost is $5.00 a class.
  • Bayfield Guiding is organizing a community First Aid weekend On September 22 to 23, 2018, at Trinity Anglican Church in Bayfield. It will be standard First Aid with CPR C and AED Course. Saturday will begin at 9:00 A.M. while Sunday will start at 11:00 A.M. The cost will be $129.00 plus HST. The cost will decrease as attendance increases so please invite others to join. Summer in Bayfield

Summer has arrived at the Bayfield Mews and with it we have good news to report! Two new lots were reserved in the last two weeks which leaves only nine lots left in our Final Phase!!

Our Sales Office will be open every weekend from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Saturday and Sunday as well as holidays. A group of our home owners have graciously offered their homes for viewing during the weekend which offers the visitor a unique opportunity to see a home fully decorated. We also have two resale homes. The first is a Columbine and is 1,355 square feet in size. The second is a Meadow and is 1,295 square feet in size. The units can be viewed every weekend during our open houses or by appointment during off-hours at (519) 565-4542.

The following are examples of events that will be taking place during the month of July in Bayfield.

  • The firemen in our village will be up bright and early on Saturday, July 7th to prepare their Annual Firemen’s Breakfast that will start at 7:00 A.M. There will be pancakes, real maple syrup, eggs, bacon, sausages, potatoes and juice. Let’s not forget the Tim Horton’s coffee generously donated by Tim Horton’s of Exeter. Cost for the breakfast is adults, $8.00 and children $5.00 and the event will finish at 11:00 A.M.
  • July 14th is the date set for the annual Bayfield Boat Parade organized by the Bayfield and Area Chamber of Commerce. This fourth annual event will take place in the Bayfield Marina. In case of inclement weather, a second date is July 21st. Anybody with a boat, be it a yacht, canoe is encouraged to drape it with lights and decorations and set sail just before sunset.

  • The annual Friends of Bayfield Library Book Sale will take place on Saturday, August 18 from 10:00 A.M to 2:00 P.M. and Sunday, August 12, from 11:00 A. M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Bayfield Library. FOBL will also be selling their new canvas Book Bags to carry home book purchases. FOBL will accept Free Will offerings with all proceeds going to support the Library and community programs.
  • Tommy Youngsteen and his band will be performing their tribute to Tom Petty at the Bayfield Town Hall on Friday, August 4. Doors open at 7:00 P.M. with the concert at 7:30 P.M.     Spring in Bayfield

    It’s all about Community at The Bayfield Mews. We are a 55+ Community providing independent living for our residents. It was great fun to participate in this new vehicle to send out our message of community living at the Mews in beautiful Bayfield and we are planning to do more Live Streaming of our community during the summer to show the homes and grounds all in bloom so stay tuned!

    • Attention treasure seekers! The fourth Annual Town Wide Yard Sale and Village sidewalk sale is this Saturday, June 2, 2018. The Bayfield Chamber of Commerce are promoting the big day.
    • The Bayfield Library will celebrate its fifth Anniversary on Saturday, June 23, 2018. To mark the occasion, cake will be served from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. plus visitors will have the opportunity to have their picture taken with “Bob the Book” and receive a keepsake photo. A “We Love Books” memory quilt is also being made and people will have a chance to add their signature to it.
