Winter in Bayfield

It’s all about Community at The Bayfield Mews and all the trees in our Community will remain lit until the middle of January so weather permitting, we encourage you to take a drive around the Mews to see this beautiful display.

We are a 55+ Community providing independent living for our residents. There are only FOUR lots left in our Final Phase!! May we suggest if you are thinking of making your home at the Bayfield Mews, you get in touch with us as soon as possible to reserve one of the four lots left. As we at the Mews anticipate the coming of Winter and with Winter the Holiday Season, our community will light up with our Christmas Lights shining on all our trees. We will have many visitors driving the Mews to see our Christmas lights.

Our Open House is open from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. every Saturday and Sunday as well as holidays. A group of our home owners have graciously offered their homes for viewing during the weekend which offers the visitor a unique opportunity to see a home fully decorated. If you are unable to visit during these hours, our after-hours contact number is (519) 565-4542 or owners in units 15, 18 or 37 will be happy to answer any questions you might have. You can also visit our web-site or Facebook page and you will see our Live Streaming tour of the Mews including the inside of one of our resident’s home.

**Our Open Houses took a break during the weekends of December 22 and 23 and December 29 and 30, 2018 but they will be open again to visitors on the weekend of January 5 and 6, 2019**.

The following is an example of an event that will be taking place during the month of January in Bayfield.

  • One of the most anticipated events of the New Year is the annual Winter Walk hosted by the Bayfield River Valley Trail Association (BRVTA). This year the walk will be held on the Varna Nature Trails on January 12, 2019.

The Winter Walk that starts at 11:00 A.M. provides occasion to breathe fresh air, explore a local trail. Meet community members at the Varna Complex one Km west of Varna. Guided hikes are led between 11:00 A.M. and Noon along the Mavis Trail or Taylor Trail. Participants are asked to arrive by 10:45 A.M. for 11:00 A.M. start. Following the hikes everyone is invited to warm up indoors with cider and a light lunch.

Please contact the hike leaders as follows: Dave MacLaren, 519-565-5480 and Peter Jeffers, 519-933-4555 and Roger Lewington at 519-565-2202.
